In some industries of the modern developed economies, traditionally known as the natural monopolies, thanks to the technological advances and the changing points of view on regulation, the competition is growing well.
Where is the monopolies’ presence economically advisable? How to achieve a rational usage of the industrial potential of the natural monopolies, providing an equal consumer access? What has to be included in the structural industrial reforms?
CEFIR research analyzes the restructure of the industrial monopolies and the problems of organizing the competitive markets in Russia in the gas and energy sectors as well as railway transport.
