Infrastructure and welfare services in Russia: Enterprises as beneficiaries and service providers | 15-11-2003
The survey is designed and implemented as a collaborative effort between the Department of Economics at the Helsinki School of Economics, the Bank of Finland Institute for Economies in Transition (BOFIT), Development Research Group of the World Bank and CEFIR. The fieldwork and the actual interviews are carried out by Ecomax GfK Ltd.

Project Summary:

Using a firm survey covering 40 regions (oblast) and several industries, the project studies infrastructure and welfare service delivery in Russia and their impact on enterprise performance. The survey covers 400 industrial enterprises in different regions of Russia and includes both new and privatized large firms. The survey examines the interrelationship between the public sector and firms, interactions between regional level and federal level authorities, issues of infrastructure and welfare service provision, and the local-regional-federal relations from an enterprise point of view.
